In front of the largest crowd in wnba history. The detroit shock won the wnba championship , becoming the first eastern confrence team to win the championship. Ruth Riley won the wnba finals mvp. The detroit shock went from worst to first in one season.

Brockton sweeps North Shore in Big Dig Series

It Started on Tuesday at Fraser Field in Lynn, John Kelly pitched for the spirit. Kelly, by most considered the best pitcher in the league gave up 4 runs over 5 innings.Marchesano, for brockton gave up only one run, on a rbi single in the 1st.
In the 2nd game brockton came back for a 4-2 win after trailing 2-0 after 6 and 2-1 after 7.
Brockton took a 1-0 lead in the 1st in the third game. A Rob Fischer Home Run in the 3rd tied it for the spirit.But 2 homers , including a nester smith shot over the right center field wall . Put brockton ahead for good .

The 2003 northeast League season is over. Next sportsnutt102089- northeast league article will be posted when the 2003 fall meetings get underway in october. During the meetings. The owners will offically approve the danbury coyotes into the league for the 2004 season, they will also decide who the 10th team will be for 2004, among other things to be discussed
