Somerset beats Pride, wins Atlantic League Championship
(ATLANTIC LEAGUE PRESS RELEASE (FROM NASHUAPRIDE.COM) The Nashua Pride closed out a successful 2003 season with the worst kind of disappointment Tuesday night, losing to the Somerset Patriots in the fifth and deciding game of the Atlantic League Championship Series. The Patriots become the first team in league history to repeat as champions, adding a second trophy to their initial 2001 title.
Nashua fell behind early for the second night in a row, trailing 3-1 after three full innings and 4-1 after the top of the fourth. The Pride showed signs of life in the bottom of the fourth, scoring twice to close the gap to 4-3. Glenn Murray led off the frame with an infield single to short. After Murray stole second and Chop Pough walked, Chris Petersen lined a two out single to right to score both runners.
That was as close as the Pride would get, unfortunately, as the Somerset offense exhibited too much firepower. A single run in the fifth, two in the sixth, and one more in the seventh extended the score out to 8-3 before Joe Kilburg finished the scoring with a homerun to right center in the bottom of the seventh.
Archie Corbin took the loss for the Pride, allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits in 3.1 innings. He walked five and struck out two. Rob Luce earned the win in relief for Somerset, allowing one run on one hit (the Kilburg homerun) in 4.2 innings.

SPORTSNUTT102089- New England Ballpark Review FRASER FIELD, Lynn,mass- NORTH SHORE SPIRIT

STADIUM A
CONSESSIONS A-
ATMOSPHERE B PLUS
I attend spirit games quit frequently. For what they had to work with fraser is great. The plan for the spirit is too play a few years at fraser then build a waterfront stadium in lynn.
The conseccions are great. The variety is average, but the food is tremendous tasting. The ballpark, from a playground for youngsters 48 inches or lower, is hidden so it doesnt ruin fraser's beauty but it isnt coverd. It is behind the concourse and right next to the main consecion are ''home plate consecion'' . The kids area is brand new. It has a high net hanging over it to prevent foul balls from landing in the playground. Directly to the right of that is the home plate conseccion stand. ''Home plate has about 13 picnic tables. The stadium is a capacity of about 4,200. The stadium is bout 50% bleacher, 50% seats, (which are very comfortable).
tickets are 8,6, and 4 dollars. The ballpark has anything but a scenic background (one of the reasons i love fraser, but cant wait wait for the waterfront park, if it gets built) a 16,000 seat football stadium, ''Manning bowl '' sits in the right and center field back drop, while in left is the teams offices OVERALL- If it happens a new waterfront stadium will likely be better, but still fraser field ranks among the top independent if not all minor league parks in america-(my review)
